“Music and Dance Transcend Borders”: Ananth Vikram Reflects on His Six-Months World Tour to UK, USA & CANADA

Must Read

Bengaluru: “When Music & Dance travels, boundaries disappear.” This aptly describes the recent World tour of Ananth Vikram, who travelled across the UK, USA and Canada from March to September 2026, presenting music, dance & engaging with Indian classical dance communities across continents.

In an interaction with this publication, Ananth Vikram reflected on a journey that took him across nine US states, besides engagements in the UK and Canada.

The journey began in the UK, with AV Live Yugadi concerts & Workshops in Dance, Nattuvangam & Kalari in London and Cambridge. His US tour later featured AV Live multilingual film-music concerts held as part of Yugadi and Independence Day celebrations. Ananth Vikram, who is also a Jury Judge on ZEETV’s SRGMP, said the response from audiences and the Indian diaspora made these musical evenings particularly memorable.

Music, however, was only one part of the journey. Across the USA and Canada, he was invited to perform in several Arangetrams/Rangapraveshams, providing Vocals and Nattuvangam for both Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi across 9 cities. He also conducted workshops in Bharatanatyam, Nattuvangam and Kalaripayattu, interacting with students, gurus and dance communities.

Speaking about his roots, Ananth Vikram said his artistic journey remains deeply connected to his cultural upbringing. Born and raised in Bengaluru, with Ancestral roots in Yellooru near Udupi’s Uchila, he has carried that cultural foundation into his work while building an increasingly international artistic presence.

Looking back on the World Tour, he described the experience as unreal & Blissful as he describes!

“Every stage was different, but the emotion was the same — the love for Indian Music and Dance. The warmth extended by the organisers, artists, students, families and audiences across countries made this journey truly special,” he said.

From Concert stages to classical dance productions, from workshops to cultural celebrations, Ananth Vikram’s recent world tour across the UK, USA and Canada reflects the growing global reach of Indian Music and Classical Dance — and he is truly a Torchbearer holding a rare combination being a Singer & Dancer Continuing to build bridges between Indian Tradition and the World.
